Lights

I chose to use lights for my final project, following a loose holiday theme. I decided to shoot them in more 'non conventional' ways, while trying to remain consistent to my theme. Using blurry and extreme macro shots I'm aimed to capture something hundreds of people take pictures of every year, in a way that is less often done.

Skrillex & Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley - Make It Bun Dem

This edit is fitting to this song because it is a mixture of reggae and dubstep music, while the photo is a mixture of a sense of rasta and urban industrialism (sense of  being man-made).

Night Sky, Patagonia
Photograph by Max Seigal, National Geographic

This photograph is extremely captivating. The centering of the tree works with the curved horizon line and stars. The detail fades in sharpness from strongest in the sky to more muted and dark on the ground, drawing attention upwards and intensifying the wide angle effect. The light has a fascinating effect as well, as the sky implies that the time is late night, while the horizon and tree imply that the sun is just setting. The purple hues and the angle the shot was taken in also add to the sense of wonder that people have when they gaze up at the vast night sky.
